Our client was the Belgian Health Care Knowledge Centre (KCE)

The KCE is a federal autonomous agency in Belgium advising the Federal Government for decisions in the health sector. It is the equivalent of a health technology agency (HTA) but covers much more than health technology.

Yellow Window was involved in this study to develop policy options for the implementation of the concept of Hospital at Home in Belgium. Yellow Window was in charge of “discussing” the potential options with the various stakeholders involved. The concept was defined as follows for the consultation:

“A hospital at home intervention provides care in the patient’s place of residence that would otherwise need to be delivered in an acute hospital”.

The consultation was through the combination of face-to-face interviews and a workshop. The workshop concentrated on issues for which there was no consensus based on the results of the interviews.

The study was published in 2015.
