EDI assessment tool

The EDI Assessment Tool for Private Companies is designed to help organisations evaluate their current capacity and progress on institutional DEI mainstreaming. Built around 9 key impact drivers that drive institutional change, this self-assessment tool offers a structured framework for companies to identify both strengths and areas for improvement.

Upon completion, your organisation will receive a comprehensive report outlining your standing across six developmental stages, with tailored recommendations on how to advance. This tool provides valuable insights that can help you track progress over time, enabling sustainable and impactful change. We recommend revisiting the assessment every 12 to 18 months to continuously measure improvement and ensure alignment with your EDI goals.

EDI Awareness and Education

The EDI Awareness and Education service option consists of interactive workshops and training sessions designed to enhance understanding of EDI principles. These workshops employ participatory and co-creation techniques to ensure practical, hands-on learning that is directly applicable to participants’ daily work. Each session is fully customisable, allowing companies to choose specific themes that align with their operational context and the needs of their teams. 

The sessions can be tailored for specific audiences and can be delivered in person or online, with flexible durations ranging from 3 to 6 hours. Yellow Window’s tailored approach ensures that the content is relevant, impactful, and designed to foster a truly inclusive culture.

Unconscious Bias in Decision-Making

This training module explores how unconscious biases can influence decision-making processes in the workplace. Participants will engage in interactive exercises and real-life scenarios to identify how bias can manifest in recruitment, promotions, and daily operations. The session aims to provide tools for recognising these biases and making more equitable, inclusive decisions. 

Fostering allyship and bystander intervention

The session will also empower employees by fostering allyship, equipping them with practical tools for bystander intervention. This training will also focus on identifying microaggressions in the workplace and understanding their impact on team dynamics and individual well-being. Through interactive scenarios, participants will develop strategies to address microaggressions constructively and will learn how to intervene in discriminatory situations, support affected colleagues and contribute to building a more inclusive and respectful workplace culture. 

Addressing sexual harassment and gender-based violence in the workplace

This comprehensive training module aims to raise awareness and deepen the understanding of sexual harassment and gender-based violence in professional environments. Participants will explore the different forms that sexual harassment and GBV can take, from subtle, everyday behaviors to more explicit and harmful actions.  Through case studies and discussions, employees will learn to recognise warning signs, understand power dynamics, and explore prevention and protection measures.  

Practising inclusive leadership

This leadership development module focuses on equipping leaders and managers with the tools and strategies needed to foster inclusivity in their teams and decision-making processes. Participants will explore how to identify and address unconscious biases, create an inclusive team culture, and integrate diverse perspectives into their leadership style. Through real-world scenarios and role-playing exercises, participants will leave with actionable strategies for leading diverse teams effectively. 

Inclusive language and communication

This training is designed to help participants recognise the importance of language in promoting respect and inclusion in the workplace. It focuses on developing communication styles that avoid bias, stereotypes, and exclusionary language. Through practical exercises, participants will learn how to modify their existing communication habits, whether in written or verbal form, to ensure they are inclusive and respectful of all identities. The training also covers how to use gender-neutral language, avoid microaggressions, and adapt communication methods to suit a diverse audience.

EDI Consulting and Education

The EDI Consulting and Education service option offers two flexible options tailored to the specific needs and goals of your organisation. Both approaches begin with an organisational diagnostic and audit, providing critical insights into your current EDI landscape, followed by tailored training session(s). 

Pathway A: Comprehensive Facilitation  

  • In-depth organisational diagnostic and audit facilitated by YW 
  • Insights from internal policy reviews, surveys, interviews, and focus groups with employees at various levels  
  • Detailed diagnostic report with key strengths and areas for improvement  
  • Tailored training session(s) based on the findings 
  • Additional support can be provided to co-create policies and strategies, such as Gender Equality Plans, EDI strategies, or anti-harassment policies
